About the Role

Tandoori chefs specialise in cooking with a tandoor, an Indian-style oven, using special sauces and spices. In addition to creating and preparing dishes, tandoori chefs must interact with restaurant staff and customer and need business skills to order supplies, establish budgets and set prices.

Requirements

  • Up to date Basic Food Hygiene Certificate

  • Training in Culinary Arts

  • Relevant Culinary Experience

  • Creative Flair, Flexible Schedule, Strong Communication, Organisational Skills, Team Mentality, Leadership Skills

  • Prepare and cook dishes in the Tandoor oven, including chopping, marinating, and grilling meats.

  • Prepare and cook Tandoori bread such as naan, roti, and paratha.

  • Maintain the Tandoor oven and ensure it is clean and in good working condition.

  • Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of food.

  • Monitor food quality and ensure that it meets the restaurant's standards.

  • Plan menus and specials with the head chef.

  • Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff.

  • Ensure that health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times.
